Program: Want to Play? (Ages: 2-12)
These sessions are led by one or more facilitators. Sessions are limited to 2 participants; siblings are welcome. Participants are exclusively matched by personality and skill set. We focus on social, executive functioning, and sensory regulation skills that every child needs to thrive in a school setting. Children will engage in sensory, fine motor, academics, structured and child-directed playtime. We develop strategies to improve a child's inhibition, emotional control, working memory, planning/prioritizing, flexibility, organization, self-monitoring, and understanding different points of view. Children will have structured or guided playtime and an opportunity to play in our craft, music, and game room. This group is perfect for a child that needs some extra assistance learning skills that make a classroom dynamic more manageable and enjoyable.
Program: Let’s Hang Out! (Ages:10-22)
These sessions are led by one or more facilitators. Sessions are limited to 2-4 participants; siblings are welcome. Participants are exclusively matched by personality and skill set. We focus on developing social and life skills in a fun way. Our goal is to help develop social skills related to verbal and non-verbal communication; managing conflict; listening; being part of a group; and problem-solving. For the older teens and young adults, they will have the opportunity to gain job skills by participating in onsite activities, i.e., making and selling cupcakes, crafts, etc. teens will have structured or guided time and an opportunity to in our craft, music, and game space.
Program: Study Buddy (Ages: 5-18)
This program provides individualized academic support for students by pairing them with volunteer mentors. Participants will be placed in groups of two or three or will receive one on one instruction. Through the use of technology and materials onsite, buddies enjoy reading books and developing literacy skills; improving math skills; and working on homework. Study Buddies meet one to two times per week. These sessions are led by advanced high school and college students. Children and teens will have structured study time and an opportunity to in our craft, music, and game space.
